Monica Rosales is Executive Director and co-founder of the DocMiami International Film Festival which honored Grammy Winner, Willy Chirino in 2012, Multi-Grammy Winner, Carlos Santana in 2011 and Latin Grammy Winner Olga Guillot in 2010. The "Queen of El Bolero" Olga Guillot accepted the “El Rey” Tito Puente Contribution to the Arts Award which was presented to her by none other than, Tito Puente, Jr.  Monica, has served as a board member for the National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP) Miami Chapter and has been a regular guest co-host of Cubanarama Radio. She has been recognized as a Marquis Who’s Who in America, Marquis Who’s Who Among America’s Women and was most recently recognized as an outstanding Hispanic-American leader during the 2011 Miami International Mall, Hispanic Heritage Month, "Noche de Honor".

Jamie Catto is the creative catalyst, producer and director behind the global philosophy and music project ‘1 Giant Leap’  http://www.whataboutme.tv/ The first epic, star-studded odyssey (starring many of the names listed below), '1 Giant Leap' was nominated for 2 Grammys in 2003, sold over 300 thousand albums, and won numerous film awards globally. The new movie and album ‘What About Me?’ is released in 2011 and was screened for 7 weeks on Channel 4, UK Jamie Catto is one of the most respected artists and activists of our time on both sides of the Atlantic. Some of the Artists he has collaborated with and directed in his projects to date include:

* Music: Bono, Michael Stipe (REM), Alanis Morissette, Dido, Annie Lennox, Robbie Williams, Daniel Lanois, KD Lang, Brian Eno and Neneh Cherry.

* Film/TV: Dennis Hopper, John Cusack, Carrie Fisher, Billy Connolly, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, Stephen Fry,  Kurt Vonnegut, Noam Chomsky, Bob Geldof, Tom Robbins and Douglas Coupland.

The comparison is inevitable. How could it be otherwise? Tito Puente Jr. carries his father with him - imprinted on his physical being and locked in his soul. It's in his looks, his joy, his music. No doubt, every time Tito Jr. walks on stage - he walks in his father's footsteps. He dances in celebration, throws his head back in pure joy and lights up the room with that oh-so-familiar smile. Tito Jr. is on a passionate mission. The younger Puente is determined to nurture the musical legacy left by his father. He refuses to let it become a distant memory; "He was just too vibrant, too exciting. There was magic in the music my father made. It made people happy, all over the world. My goal is to keep it alive, and in doing so, expose it to a whole new generation." Over the past two years, Tito Jr. has found captive audiences who echo his passion. Crowds once lured to a venue by the father's magic have returned to enjoy the son - participating once again in the high voltage celebration that takes place on stage.





Krystal Oliva
Events Coordinator

Krystal Oliva is a graduate from Florida International University, School of Journalism and Mass Communications with a B.A. in Journalism and a Minor in Hospitality. She served as the Event Coordinator of (JAMPA) Journalists & Media Professionals of the Americas, a club which she co-founded at FIU. She has assited with events such as: the Florida Breast Health Care Initiative and the Kidz Kitchen (Sobe Wine & Food Festival). Krystal jonined the DocMiami team in 2010 and is presently the festival's Events Coordinator.
